I took a spin through your library. You've got a lot of variety. I like that. :) And are you a DuoLingo polyglot? I noted you write in a lot of languages.

Hi, I'm glad you liked it. Nah, I'm not a polyglot at all (not even by DL measure I guess), but I'm learning Russian for about 8 months now after a break of 2 years (having taken 2 semesters at university) and indeed I'm dipping into some other languages via Duolingo or YT, primarily Finnish, Ukrainian and from time to time other slavic languages like Polish or Czech. Else it's just my native language German and English. At school I also learned Latin for 5 years, which I have pretty much completely lost by now. It helps with grammar and vocabulary in other languages though... I'm aiming at becoming fluent in Russian at the moment and if I should succeed, I'm probably going to dig a little deeper into Finnish or Ukrainian. How about you?

Ah, Russian. I studied it years back and occasionally brush up a little. I know much more Spanish and currently still study it... along with a number of other languages on DL. Finnish is one of them, as well as Danish and Norwegian. :) Always been attracted to languages, and seem to have more affinity for some than others. Have dabbled in several Asian languages (Chinese being the most fluent, but Thai the easiest to write), also Polish, Arabic & Navajo. Besides my native English, seems like Spanish, French, Danish/Norwegian and Finnish have the most integration in my brain. :) I should pursue French harder, being in Canada, but I have this weird love for Danish, so I think they'll vie with each other for more attention over the next few years. On mukava jutella kanssasi. :D

Back to you as for the diverse library. I picked out 'Nexus Polaris' (Covenant/The Kovenant) and 'The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion' for my next listening. 👍

I searched for The Kovenant on eBay for some time before finding an old Seti CD to rip over a decade ago. Some of my faves from that album are Stillborn Universe, Industrial Twilight, and Neon, to name a few. Dredg is also an interesting band. Hope you enjoy your picks.

Okay, so first I plundered Voices and Serdce for myself. 😉 I must admit I'm not too deep into tech, blackened or brutal death metal, so I won't be able to give much new input here. From what I have seen, you gave Rivers of Nihil a good spin, but omitted 'Monarchy', which is my favorite by them so far (especiall the second half with 'Monarchy', 'Terrestria II: Thrive', 'Circles in the Sky', 'Suntold'). I would definitely recommend that one. You don't seem to be too much into melodeath, which is the genre I explored the most, but seemed to enjoy Eucharist - With the Sun. Probably nothing new to you, but if you enjoy a similar style you might also like In Flames - The Jester Race and - Whoracle, Dark Tranquillity - The Gallery, Unanimated - In the Light of Darkness and - Ancient God of Evil. Or with a bit more modern influences Soilwork - The Chainheart Machine or Mors Principium Est - The Unborn. [1]

'The sixth sense' from Serdce reminds me a bit of "Immense Intense Suspense" by Phlebotomized. "Unique Path" gives me pretty strong Cynic vibes, I like it. "Hopefully the rest will be new and entertaining enough to make up for it." I'm pretty optimistic.

I'll get right on that, I have heard a little bit of Phlebotomized (probably haven't scrobbled it or something)... Serdce covers a lot of ground on that album I wish their music was more readily available or better known, it's pretty interesting. Cynic wasn't something I enjoyed much when I tried it back in the day, maybe it's due a revisit. Thoughts on Voices? I noticed you checked out "London".

Funny you say that, I am just listening to the ~~newest~~ one (Wildhunt) and tbh.. not what I wanted to hear haha. Kinda nice but so not what I wanted. You've listened to Путь!! They are so cool, have an accordeonist which buys me every single time.

Hi there, I can't really... I'm not super familiar with his work. I'd recommend checking out his highest or most rated releases on Rate Your Music. I've only enjoyed a few pieces of his I've heard, particularly his famous Prelude in C Sharp Minor; it's been a long time since I've given him a listen too. What other classical are you into by the way?

Hi, nice Morphine are an excellent band. You have a great library too, I see you are quite into Be'lakor - that's a band I need to give another shot! \m/ They never clicked for me I suppose when I checked them out in the past, often that happens.

Hi! If I'd not have seen some pretty harsh stuff in your library I would have said you need a certain amount of exposure to harsher vocals and heavy music, but you clearly had that. One thing I can say is that Be'lakor (at least for me) did not lose their appeal with repeated listens, but got even better. I also think the lyrics add quite a lot to the music and when I am listening to them they conjure a really vivid imagery before my eyes. I'd definitely recommend you to give them another chance. I'd suggest a quiet evening and the whole of 'Stone's Reach'. :)

nice list 've checked some didn' know, for me Beside Megadeth's and Black sabath's classics i do share your choice for Soen - Tellurian as one of the most creative concept-related art works out there ,beside i do like: Be'lakor - Of Breath and Bone, October Tide - A Thin Shell, Soap - Remedies, Katatonia Viva Emptiness / The Fall of Hearts, Omnium Gatherum - Beyond, Paradise Lost - The Plague Within Riverside - Love, Fear and the Time Machine, Oak - False Memory Archive, Mastodon - Leviathan , and most their covers.. in general i follow the art works done by Travis Smith and Niklas Sundin (dark tranquillity) and search for that beautiful combination between the music and it's art work cover!

I'd say we're in good agreement on a lot of stuff. I see you enjoyed listenting to The Great Cold Distance, as I have. Regarding your top bands: I listened to Soilwork quite a lot and also really like The Living Infinite (at least most of it, it would could have used a little slimming down for my taste). Besides all the metal stuff, I was getting into some futurepop and other electronic music recently aswell, which I see a lot in your library - so maybe I'll discover something there. Some songs I enjoyed came from VNV Nation, Covenant, Project Pitchfork.
