¡Saludos! :D

Right, lastfm is a great place for us music addicts :-) Good to hear you are fine, me and family also fine. Here the infection rate is rising again :-( let's see when they can get the vaccine out, finally... We are "distracting" ourselves more with music and other hobbies etc. What's on your musical agenda for today? I am listening my fresh "mix of the week" on spotify (which came out today) and it has lots of classical music

Congratulations on reaching this '>191k scrobbles' milestone ... I saw us both in the "Discovery + Scrobble Leaderboards" sections (September 11-17), you are at #4 and #5 places there: last DOT fm/user/Indierock93/listening-report/week ... How's it going on your location of the planet these days? I guess you as well don't go out so much lately in these Corona disease times, as we also here in good ol' Germany ... Take care of yourself, and enjoy the tracks (and other hobbies) meanwhile, Mario

I listened to the whole Front 242 discography and was disappointed, I expected more from them. That's why I decided to not attend their concert :D I remembered modern Russian post-punk band Molchat Doma. In English, roughly speaking, it translates Houses Remain Silent. Many praised this album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Crz1PpKk3dU I don't find it very innovative or mindblowing but it's good album for sure :) Can you send me more of Mexican music? I'm really interested in other talented musicians of your country!

If Autumn will be fine and there won't be the second wave of the virus, I want to attend Soviet Soviet, Italian post-punk with psychodelic guitars, and She Past Away, Turkish post-punk with very charismatic vocals. I would recommend you Soviet Soviet's album Fate, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgY-LrSR2PY And from She Past Away album from 2019, Disko Anksiyete: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9wxZpOoiJ8 Recently I immersed into Jesu, project of Godflesh's founder, Justin Broadrick. It's shoegaze/drone metal. I find this music very emotional and sincere, especially after brutal and destructive mighty Godflesh. Jesu is crushing, emotinally, it's musical catharsis. Try these songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN5VtKcJ1Uo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUpm65zhF9o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfytPS6j4Cw Jesu will perform in Moscow in October. I will definitely attend it. I wanted to attend Front 242, they're often called as fathers of EBM.

We live in a very disturbing time, my friend... I wish the world someday will see a day without riots or wars, someday. By the way, I'm surprised with the fact that I never asked you about Run the Jewels! Have you ever heard about this badass duo? They released new album recently - as always freaking amazing! Their rap is very politicized and straight (they even have few feats with Zach de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine), the instrumentals and technique of rapping is next level! I don't know how to describe it, it's like old school rappers in modern style! Try their album Run the Jewels 2, you will definitely like it :) Thank you very much for sharing your discoveries! Otoboke Beaver - I opened the link and I wasn't expecting... SUCH A DRIVING AND EXTREME MUSIC! Whoa, they're absoulte demons! And Big Thief is very, very-very tender music. I don't like female vocals much but this is a joyful exception. Big Thief is wonderful, I'm gonna check out other their works :)

I adore their 2000's albums, I guess due to childhood nostalgia. And what do you think about Gorillaz? Talking about political stuff again, distrust of government only grows nowadays in my country. Economical situation due to pandemic has worsened and the ruling party makes strange decisions (canceling quarantine restriction, for example). Also, there will be changes in the constitution, which a lot of people don't approve or don't even care about them. I can say bad things about my government and I won't be punished, but if services will find in my words an appeal against the law or the government, it won't be good for me, obviously. Actually, I rarely speculated about it cause I rarely speak about politics at all. You know, politics is necessary, no matter you like it or not. It's a sphere of our life, though we can't seriously influence it. I'm sure you heard about riots in the USA. I don't support any violence in demonstrations. And they riot, forgetting about pandemic situation.

...united by love of music! I really enjoyed other live videos, especially seeing emotinal responce of crowd :) So, you attended all gigs you sent me?? WOW! You have an impressive list of visited gigs. Wish to see these bands one day, especially The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, NIN and King Crimson. Ahahaha, I guess after the King Crimson performance Robert Fripp will erase my memory, so I can't tell anyone how King Crimson look like! I rarely watch live videos fully but this Gorillaz festival is mindblowing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zhqzo1JoXFA There were most of the artists who collaborated with Albarn!! And they sang Gorillaz' hit songs. Gorillaz once visited Russia in 2018 but the performance was canceled on half due to the storm :( I didn't attend it but it was the first time they ever visited Russia and the concert was ruined by weather LOL. I hope they visit my country once again, I would like to see them, though I'm not a fan of their latest albums.

...put a big smile on my face, that's so touchingly :) Black Sabbath performance is EPIC. When I was watching it, my jaw was just missing - there are so many people and they like a one giant force! Waters not only glorious music artist, but a visual master as well! I dreamed to see Pink Floyd performing in their 70's line up, to hear masterpieces of The Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall. Have you ever seen film adaptation of The Wall? It's a great work of art! When I saw it for the first time, I didn't like it much (and album as well), you know, didn't experience it properly. But a year later it clicked on me and I rediscovered it for myself. Pink Floyd made a great show during The Wall tour: they built a wall with cartonboard bricks between the audience and the band. There were some holes in the wall, in which audience saw inflatable figures of album's characters. The wall had animated projections, which complemented the songs. It's so inspiring to see so many people in one place...

I lost my voice after Death Grips for few days and my neck had been hurting as well :D On my eyes one guy's glasses were broken in slam. That was demonic live! Do you know cult gothic band Bauhaus? They even called "fathers of goths"! Their frontman and basist, Peter Murphy and David J, visited Russia in 2018: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zATqJPSOCdY It was really cute how old and young goths were dancing to Bauhaus' songs! ^_^ And I was dancing as well! I was seriously impressed with Peter's voice: it's velvet and gorgeous, like he is still young and it's 80's. Probably, Peter's vocal is one of my favourites ever! It's probably the most known GY!BE song - East Hastings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDLp6gK9IRE The crowd was in euphoria when heard the first notes of it. I stood with bug eyes, holding my head with both hands. I guess it's the most memorable moments from gigs I attended. You sent me very intense videos, wish I was there!! The way how crowd sang with the National...

On others everyone stands without any movement, closing their eyes and watch images in their minds. It mostly depends on music :) Of course there are people with phones, who try to capture the whole concert on video or photos. I don't support it, as for me, you can't catch performance on the phone. You must capture it with your mind! Taking few photos is good, but not standing THE WHOLE concert with phone LOL. And many concerts are recorded with professional cameras so if I would like to refresh memories, I will find a video on the web. This is, for example, Godflesh gig I visited (I was standing in the first rows): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g4ngMhdeFs On 1 hour mark the whole crowd was chanting Like Rats with Godflesh :D And this is Michael Gira's solo concert - everyone was silent and listened to Michael very attentively: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKITfB__HHo This is an extract from Death Grips' performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3eu8eqOhlM

I guess you will enjoy these games if you enjoyed Life is Strange. Talking about live performances, I think some bands have worth live sound (same Swans, for example, I always wondered how Michael stood 30-minute songs in his 60 years!) and some bands are strictly studio. For example, one of my favourite bands, Fear Factory, sounds really weak live. They achieve very tight and complex sound on albums, which they just can't reach on the stage. Death Grips perform with phonogram, because they can't show that giant spectre of sound, which they have on studio. Moreover, Death Grips perform without any breaks - just play an hour in one breath. No wonder MC Ride sometimes suffocates on intense songs. But anyway I enjoyed their performance a year ago. Some vocalists loose their voices due to intense touring - Marilyn Manson, Fear Factory's vocalist. We have different gigs in Russia and different audience. On some of them you will meet slams and moshes and crowd will become an unified organism

For example, two Playstation exclusives - Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. These are action-adventure games but both have focus on decisions you made through the plot and have a lot of endings. It feels like you're watching a good movie and decide what path it will take. There were even jokes about Playstation 3 that it has only "movies" and no games lol. I enjoyed both of these games, especially Heavy Rain with its grey mood, mysterious plot and unforgettable main characters. But at the same moment Heavy Rain has a lot of plot holes and mismatches. Actually, I didn't see them much on the first walkthrough. Beyond: Two Souls has real actors (Ellen Page, Willem Dafoe), who gave apperance for game's main heroes. I enjoyed it less because Beyond has more logical mistakes and the plot is more linear, than Heavy Rain's. Game have a lot of choices but they only make an illusion of decisions - the path of game changes reaaaally slightly. By the way, now these games are available on PC!

They were in close contact with me and my father but they're absolutely healthy! Scientist say that people, who weren't infected, have a large amount of T-lymphocytes in the blood - the cells, which attack alien organisms or substances. What's the situation in your country at the moment? I believe, you're doing fine :) My essay on medicine of Aztecs have the max grade, thank you once again :D Talking about visual novels, they're not really popular in my country, only in narrow range of lovers of Japanese culture. Some enthusiasts even made Russian visual novel - Beskonechnoe Leto (Endless Summer). It's based on Russian imageboard called 2ch (Russian analogue of popular imageboard 4chan) and its mascots, which became characters in visual novel. I didn't play any visual novel at all. What do you think about this genre? Yes, many non-Japanese games have visual novel elements. I haven't played Life is Strange yet but it's in my list of games I want to check out!

Hola, my Mexican friend! It's been a while since I wrote you last time. At the moment, the government canceled all restrictions. It means that we can walk anywhere we want without any special passes. And all malls are opening as well. It's kinda strange because the virus is still there, my dad works with it - he is a doctor. He takes about 10-20 patients with suspicion on covid-infection per day. Moreover, me and my dad were infected as well in the end of April. Fortunately, I had mild covid - just high temperature with muscle pain in my back for a week. My dad had bilateral pneumonia, which included strong cough, high temperature. He defeated the virus approximately in 2 weeks. At the moment everything is fine :) The only thing that disturbs both of us - we still haven't any sense of smell. And it doesn't seem to return at all. We started to take some medicines, hope it will do a good thing for our noses :D What's really interesting - my mom and elder brother didn't catch the virus!

This is my favourite Aria's video: https://youtu.be/7DldI22ObPo Russians call Aria "Russian Iron Maiden or Manowar" :D La Gusana Ciega reminded me russian band U-piter, romantic and dreamy music: https://youtu.be/pSVNvuoLE_Y I'm sure you heard about mexican garage punk band Le Butcherettes. Their performances are absolute insanity! What I really love in their music: how intense, I'd say, even furious music combines with gorgeous vocals! This February I attended Carbon Based Lifeforms concert. They write chillout/space ambient music. The show had amazing visual effects, which complemented music. Moreover, I didn't even think that this kind of music can be danceable! I recommend you to check out their album Hydroponic Garden, try to listen to it in the night. My mind floats when I listen to Carbon Based Lifeforms :)

Another record is Bandana by Madlib & Freddie Gibbs. It has jazz sampling and Freddie's flow is on the highest level! I also recommend you to check out Madlib's creativity. I'm glad you enjoyed Russian music! I do like to listen to music at night too. Night is a special time, full of mystery :) From Mexican artists you sent me I really impressed by Rodrigo y Gabriela! This duo is so virtuosic, I'm mesmerized by their technique! Agora reminded me russian band called Aria, they play heavy metal as well. I'm in a good way shocked by Brujeria. What a bloodthirsty music! I see, Mexican artists have a broad spectrum in music writing! Fobia has a perky sound! I guess, it's a good choice for party soundtrack :D I enjoyed world music vibes in Porter's music, video for Huitzil have these vibes too and also it's amazingly filmed!

...alternative party to change the present one. So, you see the question of free speech is acute in my country. WOW! I kinda prejudiced Denzel Curry until I listened to him! I really enjoyed songs you sent me, though I'm not into this kind of hip-hop :) I also want to check out Danny Brown, I heard he is pretty decent too. Hip-hop with jazz elements? Yes, that's very harmonic combination. I would recommend you to listen to instrumental hip-hop, such artists as Flying Lotus, Nujabes and El Huervo. These are my favourite artists in this genre :) Also, I know few hip-hop records that you may like. The first is Madvillain - Madvillainy. It is a collaboration between Madlib (another awesome instrumental hip-hop artist), who provided outstanding beats and unusual samples and instrumentals, and MF DOOM - charismatic rapper, who wears distinctive metal mask. He is pretty talented artist, the way he delivers his texts and the writing is unique, complex and interesting to analyse!

Thank you for opening me another wonderful band! :) Hahahaha, yes, that's a very famous cliche about my country. It's partly true, partly - really exaggerated in the eyes of foreigners. Our country isn't a totalitarian state, you can share your opinion even if you have a critical and argumented (that's most important) view on the government, but not in a form of a rally, demonstrations etc. The opposition to the present dominating party is strongly prohibited. We had even rallies with critique of our government previous Summer. These rallies met strong police resistance, some of the demonstrators were arrested. So, yes, sometimes you'd better stay quiet, especially near the police. What about me, I have an indifferent view on my government cause I can't neither change nor influence it. I'm generally apolitical person, so I can't properly criticize party. It made good things for us as well as bad. Everything isn't so easy from the first sight, you know. We haven't an appropriate...

Sometimes, I just replay some moments in my head from the concert :D Godspeed You! Black Emperor performance was overwhelming! It lasted for 3 hours, I guess. They played mostly new songs + songs from the last album. But in the end they played East Hastings - probably, their most known song! The audience was in euphoria, I stood with my hands holding my head. I was speechless, crushed and at the the same moment my mind was uplifted, I was simply stunned! Moreover, it was the first time GY!BE visited Russia! More than a 2000 persons attended this performance. Russian listeners had been waiting for them for a very long time and finally they saw these legends of post rock. I listened attentively to Mono. I enjoyed their creativity, from albums you recommended my favourite is You Are There. It sounds so warm, I would say Mono's music is very genuine, lo-fi style of recordings even complements their songs! They visited Russia in 2019, I hope to have an opportunity to see them live.

...music, fine arts etc. I heard Akira Yamaoka tours with an orchestra and plays music of Silent Hill soundtracks. I would like to visit it someday, just to hear, how this haunting yet tremendously beautiful music sounds outside the record, alive! Talking about Swans once again, I find leaving meaning. sorrowful (Actually, Swans' music can't be described without this word) and yet really bright and even uplifting, in terms of Gira's music of course. Swans are going to visit Russia this Autumn, they will play leaving meaning. songs. I think, I will attend this performance. Interesting fact: Sunfucker was written under the inspiration of Aztec's worship of the Sun! Godflesh gig, yes, exactly, it was loud and really really heavy. I lost my voice on it! After the concert I can't listen to some songs because they were absolutely different on the gig: more stronger, heavier and even more desperate! I'm really impressed that Broadrick saved his voice because he sings in a harsh vocal style.

Hello, my Mexican friend! How's the situation in your country? I hope you're and your close people are fine and stay strong. Thank you very much for the videos about History of Mexico. I learned a lot from them! That's pretty interesting coincidence: I have to type an essay on History of medicine and I chose topic "Aztec's medicine" :D These videos are not only interesting to watch, but also helped me to understand this nation much better for my essay. I really liked the way you express your feelings on Silent Hill cause I felt emotions close to yours. Game industry is art as well, though this part of culture is often ignored, which is wrong as for me. Yes, I can remember a lot of dull games without soul and meaning at all. But at the same time games like Silent Hill 2 I consider as phenomenal pieces of art. This game is an experience, an example of real psychological problems, which are rarely mentioned. Maybe in future such games will be learned on the same level as literature...

Another band that I want to introduce you is Reutoff and its side-project Quattro Bravo Eballieros. Reutoff writes dark ambient and electro-industrial stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EySWm1MKVLM Also, try some their works with Deutsch Nepal - what a wonderful collaboration. Quattro Bravo Eballieros is like a false mirror of Reutoff. It's funny, lightweight and most of the songs have vocals. And lyrics... Well, they're really absurd. And it makes it even more lovely! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhHnkv7iXus This song is more serious, it has some The Cure's vibes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgsCD7ylN5U It might sound crazy but Russia has an equivalent for Swans's Filth. I'm absoultely serious. It's band Communism and its album Veselyashiy Gaz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BskDtKkX6Q That's pretty hard stuff, be prepared. The founder of the group, Egor Letov, is iconic musician in Russia. His band Grajdanskaya Oborona is adorable among people with different tastes.

When in Britain era of post-punk has ended long ago, in Russia it is at the peak of. Many of Russian bands are inspired by Joy Division or The Cure. Or both. But most of these bands are not interesting and faceless. In 80's there was a band called Kino. Many say that they stealed most of the music from Britain post-punk groups but I disagree with this statement. Kino is distinctive group and one of the most importants on Russian music scene. Just listen to this song: youtube.com/watch?v=SOYkG5VMhp8 The guitar solo in the end is pure magic... There are a lot of hip-hop artists in my country. And most of them are... Boring. You know, hip-hop doesn't require skill on playing any instrument or something. That's why it is so popular among soundcloud artists, novice musicians etc. The one Russian rapper which is interesting, in my opinion, is Haski: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiDZHgzpxTw The central theme of his songs is about reality of Russian live, about its darkest sides.

So, how are you now? I'm going to visit Godflesh performance on 26th of October. Do you know this band? I can say for sure that it's the best industrial metal group in the history of this genre. It combines heavy metal riffs, industrial samples and atmosphere and highlight... Hip-hop rhytms! Sounds weird but this mixture is groundbreaking. Also, I'm going to Godspeed You! Black Emperor. They will visit Russia for the first time! It's an epochal event. Do you know them? Some call them "fathers of post-rock". It's not even a group, it is an orchestra. If you're not familiar with them, I strongly recommend F♯ A♯ ∞ and Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven. Just put the record on, sit or lay in the dark and let your mind build stories and paintings for their music. New Swans's incarnation has a lot of Godspeed You! vibes. Even the design of album covers reminds them. Talking about the music of my country, I can say for sure that Russia loves post-punk.

Coming back to Twin Fantasy, I can say for sure that I enjoy this album. Especially long tracks, they're blissful! The whole album have a very kind mood, it gives a bright, hopeful feelings. Need to check their other works, they have a lot of albums as I see! Thank you once more for this album, my friend! С: I relistened Fear Inoculum and it didn't grow at me at all. I would say, it got only worse. Behind the giant tracks and long guitar progressions there is, actually, pretty boring stuff. Some of the riffs are suspiciously similar to previous works. I felt some songs like Tool focused on track's duration but not their quality. This album looks weak comparing to previous records which are brilliant, all of them. Anyway, I'm glad that this album finally was written and released. It's like an end of era, era of endless waiting. Some of fans had been waiting from 2006! I started to follow news about new album only in 2017.

Michael sang songs from upcoming album. I stand in the first rows, so I heard his strong voice very closely. It was a pleasure to hear it only with acoustic guitar. After the show Michael went to listeneres and signed some items. I shook his hand and thanked him for performance and creativity. He thanked me for my feedback, he really appreciate fan-community. We embraced each other and I took a picture with him! :) When I saw his smile and eyes, I understood how kind Michael is. Frequently, persons who write and create shocking things (paintings, music, books) are very kind-hearted. I'm still under the big influence after this show! I listened to Dead Magic - creepy and mesmerizing work. Needs repeatable listens and good imagination. And yet I hear some Soundtracks for the Blind vibes even here, lol. Or is that just me? Robert Fripp is strange and mysterious person. Yes, he always plays sitting, even when he was much younger. And Fripp enormously rabits for some mysterious reasons :D
