I think it's another stunning masterpiece in her discography. I was a little bit afraid that emotionwise this album wouldn't be as intense as Caligula because of the missing scream which, for me, added so much atmosphere and also contrast to this album. But she really found a way to create a emotional rollercoaster ride even without those harsh explosions. I mean, instrumentally this still goes totally crazy. Also she found a way to still express all her anger and grief thorugh her voice perfectly. Already the first 3 songs leave me devastated. So overall, I really love it but I have to give it a few more spins to see if I prefer it to Caligula. What do you think?

I agree with you that hard work pays off and even if you lack something, by studying hard, you can at least acquire some basic knowledge of it. The problem is that i dont have much spare time at the moment :( I'm working 24/7 these days. Well, as for pushing the adult life back, I will say that you need to strive to get the adult life that will interest you and make you happy. No matter how absurd it may sound, but it is real. I love my job and that's why working 24/7 is not a problem for me, on the contrary, I love it. I regard my job not as a trade, but as a paid hobby) I cant imagine how some people work for 30 years, holding a position they do not like. This is awful. Well, tbh, I still miss my student days when I had more free time, though I used to waste it on computer games and other worthless stuff. But it was fun) I think each period of life has its own pros and cons, and one's objective is to get the most of pros at every stage)

I followed your advice and bought a ticket :)) I think i've deserved some fun since i've been working like a slave all these months. I'll tell ya how it all goes and then u'll decide whether to go to see them or not) Yeah, nostalgia is the word for describing my trips to my native town. No matter how long i live in Moscow, i ll never be a Moscovite. I'd love to play an E-guitar too, but as i said before I had no ear for music sadly(( and it also needs time, as you said. I've practically no time) sleep, work, sleep, work. That's basically it. ADULT LIFE. Fuck this))

Hello there! Glad to know you're doing great! Well, there has not been much interesting in my life during this period, I am at work most of the time, the rest is occupied by the gym and other minor stuff) I visited my relatives on New Year's who live in my native town. It was a very good trip. I haven't been to any concert, unfortunately. Feeling kinda lazy about that, you know. There is an Emil Bull's concert in March in Moscow, but I am still in doubt whether to go or not. Well, that's it) oh, and I also read a lot of books. Also takes a lot of time)

Oh wow! Your history of the gig is insanely captivating) Makes me even more jealous haha, in a good way, ofc. Its not the first time that i missed a gig i wantedo to visit, so its okay. Im not a concert goer overall. What i like about gigs in small venues is proximity to the stage, just like the one you described. When I was at BTBAM's gigs, I was just as closed to the scene, which is crucial. It makes you feel part and parcel of it all. That's what gigs are all about in general.

I did not get to see TDEP ;( That was my fault altogether. I waited for too long, then was totally immersed in my work and forget about the concert and when i remembered about it, i found out that the prices went too high. I could have bought a ticker, but decided not to. Need to save some money. That's ok. Some bands tend to reunion now and then). I dont remember if i advised you to check out Gone is Gone, it is a great new band consisting of several famous members from Mastodon, QOTSA, etc. They got a Mastodontish sound, but still are different. They got an EP and an LP. You might like em [2/2]

Hey, mate! it's all fine, been extremely busy myself these last weeks. I tried Swans, yeah, but failed to dig em :( Maybe some other time. There are bands to which I developed a liking only after several tries. Chester's death hit me really hard as well. I still cant believe in it. It was evening and I was doing some stuff on PC when i saw a news message pop out saying he committed suicide. NO FUCKING WAY, NO FUCKING WAY that what I said out loud instantaneously. Oh damn. Of all music celebrities, I would have placed him at the back of any list of possible suiciders. He never looked that type of person for me. I still think it was a rather spontaneous decision, rather than a carefully planned one. He got drunk, though about Chris, and... An irreparable loss, even though their latest album is very weak [1/2]

Mastodon's new record kicks some asses. These guys never fail to suprise me. I wonder how they manage to release completely different albums, but at the same time preserving their own style. They keep on evolving and expanding their music which is truly great since they started as a more simple sludge-like band and then added more progressive and melodic elements to their music. Moreover, its quite rare these days but their drummer sings as well) Check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZOhPnPhrdU I started listening to them with the record "Leviathan" which is based on the book "Moby-Dick; or, The Whale", but I guess you should start with "Crack the Skye". It is widely considered to be their best album. Well, can't argue with that :) [2/2]

Hey! I hope it's all right with you there! I've downloaded the Seers and will try the band once again)) I know that some bands are really hard to dig in, it needs time, for instance, I would have never though Im gonna like bands like Converge. But here I am) I like experimental stuff overall. Yes, I adore Eminem as well, I grew up listening to him since school. He is a top-notch rapper. Die Antwoord is definitely an intersting rap formation of the last years, they have their own unique style which distinguishes them from others. No, i haven't listened to "Good Goobye" and I guess I wont. I'd rather wait till the album comes out [1/2]

For instance, I used to hate In flames a lot. I couldnt stand his vocals. But then as time flew by, I returned to Reroute to Remain and, man, it simply blew me away. What a masterpiece it is! How could I have loathed it at all? Do you like rap btw? I used to like rap a lot in my childhood, Eminem, D-12 and stuff. Now I kinda returned to it, for instance, Die Antwoord is my fav band right now, their latest album (released in 2016) is just sick. They even made a cover on a very famous Soviet song for kids LOL, its the last track on the album. Give them a go too, they are worth it [2/2]

Ah, it is longer indeed, did not read it correctly. Yea, you should definitely give I, Omega a go, a very nice band. "If they do pop, they at least should try to do it interesting" - cant agree more! That's is my motto in music, basically. I dont care about genres as long as songs are well structured, well produced etc. Their first electronic experiments were poppy, but still of insanely high quality, whilst Heavy is just...oh, well, let's drop this Heavy subject haha. When the new album comes out, im gonna delete this track altogether. I've heard Swans, but i didnt like them. Well, if you have any fav Swans' song, tell me, im gonna try them again. There are bands which you come to appreciate in time. [1/2]

Hey again! Sorry for not replying for such a long time, have some issues in real life, but it all is getting better now, hopefully. Lol, I did not know that Fortress was even shorter than that EP. By the way, there is a band called "I, Omega", they sound just like PTH, check them out. I especially love Heretics. My money is scarce at the moment, but Im gonna order a Converge T-shirt asap, for sure. Oh, yeah, Heavy is such a terrible song, it is so cheesy I want to vomit :D No, really, it of low quality overall. Battle Symphony, on the contrary, is very good. I hope too there will be more songs like that on the new album. Btw, if you hadnt told me about Heavy, I would have never found out that LP was working on something new ;)) I rarely check news about music, mostly come by accident at something like that. Chris Adler is an insane drummer) I love him almost as much as Mike Portnoy ))) Yea, Pacific Myth is also great. I'm waiting for a full-length album, tho. PTH is one of rare non-mediocre bands that has its own unique style and manages to release awesome stuff on and on. Oh, wow! I envy you now) I havent ordered mine yet. Got some other business to do. Yes, I dont understand those who whine about piracy. C'mon, guys, if it wasnt for the Internet, you wouldnt be even known now. Of course, artists lose money when someone downloads their albums for free, but PR and awareness are worth much more. People go to their concerts and buy their mech because they know them. So it all gets balanced in the end, I think.

I wish all mistakes led to great stuff haha)) Yeah, Bloodmeat is sick. One of my fav by PTH, for sure. I especially like their latest full album Volition. Lamb of God's drummer Chris Adler made all the drumming there as you may know. And his drumming fits so well as if he was a regular member of the band lol. I hope one day they will unite again. As for Jane Doe, I am even thinking about buying a T-shirt on eBay with this art to go to gigs wearing it :)) I also like discovering new stuff. One day it can be black metal, next - Vivaldi, next - cloud rap )) I hope piracy on the Internet will last forever haha

Such hilarious mistakes were common, but this one turned out to be pretty fortunate, and I thank this pirate guy)) Its rather usual to start with smth "simple" and then explore a more experimental and progressive side of it. If you like progressive metalcore, you probably have heard of the Human Abstract and Protest the Hero. My fav bands in this genre by far. Well, lastfm also says that Converge and TDEP are similar, but i think this is bullshit)) Converge is more chaotic hardcore, there are not many mathcore elements, to be honest. Nevertheless, both bands are insanely good. As for album covers, I've never paid much attention to them, with some notable exceptions. For some reason, the cover of Between the Buried and Me's "The Great Misdirect" caught my attention and this is how I first listened to them) I might have told you this story, I frankly forgot If I have, because I share it with everyone :D

I used to dislike instrumental music just like you do, but step by step I changed my opinion. Probably it first happened when I discovered a band called God is An Astronaut and a genre called "post-rock". Oh man. That was something for me at that time. I took a deep plunge into the genre and for the following 3 years I seemed to have listened to almost 1,000 different post-rock bands :D It was probably too much and I've grown tired of post-rock nowadays, though now and then I download albums of the bands I like, but I have stopped searching for new ones.

Its all okay) I remember a funny story that happened to me. I had a cassette Walkman at that time and I once saw Metallica's Frantic video on MTV and I liked it a lot. So I decided to buy a cassette of this album. I went to the closest market in my town (I did not live in Moscow at that time) and after searching for it for an hour I finally found it. I was really happy, but having listened to the full album, I found no Frantic there, though the title was St. Anger and Frantic was definitely there. Moreover, some songs were kinda familiar to me, I had heard them somewhere. It took me some years to realize that the album I had bought was not St. Anger (though the cover and the cassette said it was St. Anger), but the Black Album (or self-titled, as some call it) :D Damn pirates!

Buckethead is a guitar monster! Sometimes I think that there are several people behind "Buckethead" since i cannot image how he can produce so many albums per month and how he manages to mix so many genres. I found him by accident, I was browsing some website and clicked "avant-garde" tag (and Buck is mainly classified as avant-garde) and found one of his albums. Then I remembered that i had heard about him from some of my friends on the internet. I downloaded that album, it was Look Up There and right from the beginning I knew im gonna like this guy :D

I'd like to say that I've listened to his full discography, but I still might lie, because he's got too damn many albums) As for a start, I'd definitely recommend his most famous albums: "Colma" - its simply a masterpiece, you're gonna fall in love with it instantly; "A Real Diamond In The Rough" - probably my fav album of Buck. I like how the guitar sounds here; "Electric Tears" - also a very prominent album with its unique sound; "Shadows Between the Sky" - smooth and coherent; "Captain Eo's Voyage " - also a must-download album. I think it's a good list to begin with) I have around 90 albums on my HDD and these are the albums I enjoy) I've deleted the ones I dont like.

Yes, this kind of spark is lost. I remember well how I ran from shop to shop in search of a CD that I needed. Moreover, when a band released a new album, I found it out like 1 or 2 years later since I had neither computer no Internet)) And it was really hard to find it. Yeah, those were the times) Some magic is gone, but the availability of music does make up for it, I'd say. It allows you to explore more and more and to find new genres of which you've never even heard before.

Music in general is full of cliches, not only punk, so its ok) Every style has its own peculiarities, whether it is the style of the album cover or the way a band's name is written (for instance, you might know how deathcore bands' names are written: rough, rigid, root-like, twisted and deformed letters all combined and compressed together) or the way they dress and behave, for instance, members of a black metal band are so easily identifiable :D

I still have some CDs left from my childhood. I threw away dozens of them several months ago, because they occupied too much space :( I cant even imagine how people who love vinyl stuff manage to store all those big vinyl records. Im gonna listen to Bad Religion's full discography and then will tell you what albums I enjoy most) I googled Greg Graffins and it surprised me that he has a Ph.D. degree. It's quite surreal to see a punkrocker with such a degree) Punkrockers are usually considered to be brainless, careless, reckless and many other less-containing-adjective people)) I also like some of Iggy Pop's stuff, though he is more proto-punk as I know. There was a very popular horror punk bank in Russia called Король и Шут (King and Jester). Once they were at a high ebb and totally dominated the punk rock scene in here, but since I did not listen to punk at that time, I missed this hype thing) Maybe I ll try to listen to them as well now that I have become more open to all kinds of music

I guess most people start the way we started - from softer stuff to something heavier. I haven't met a person who started listening to Behemoth at the age of 8 LOL. If I were a parent of such a kid, I'd be really concerned) Anyway, it's great that we live in an age where music in general has expanded in all directions and one can enjoy it in its various and different states. God bless the Internet for making it available to us haha. I remember the times when me and my friends had Walkmans and bought those cassettes for it, then as years passed by techologies improved and CD players were introduced, and then MP3 players and I had CDs with full discographies of Metallica, Motorhead, Slipknot, Korn etc. And nowadays we have tiny pieces of metal and plastic that can store 32 or 64 or even more GB of music)

I'm britney spears fan ffs.....I habe no room to talk about other people's music preferences )) anyway, I hugly suggest to give Kid A a chance, this album is pure magic, Motion Picture Soundtrack is my fav radohead's song ever (maybe because it was in the heartbreaking scene of the movie "i origins" but whateeeever, still an amazing song)

I wouldn't say RH fans are open tbh this is the problem with fans of artists with a long career, they are stuck in the past and don't appreciate new stuff. when AMSP came out I was blown away but many peope talked about how this was an album of old songs that were only slightly (and badly changed). they call shit everything that was released after ok computer or in rainbows. and the most annoying thing about them is their attitude "I listen to RH so I'm better than most population of Earth" lol I can't take these people serious anymore, I try to not communicate with RH "hardcore" fans because the only thing they can do is whining. If you are metal fan then RH must feel so different for you...what's your favourite album so far? I honestly still can't decide for myself haha I have holy trinity- In Rainbows, Kid A and Ok computer but the last album is magic too, maybe it will replace one of them in the future.

Your short coverage of NOFX's biography seems pretty interesting, but i guess not all biographies are that interesting since not everyone can write decent stuff. They are musicians, not writers. Of course, everything they write gets edited by some professional, but still the overall style remains unchanged, i.e. it is more of an amateur kind of work. That's just my opinion, you might have another one since you've read a number of biographies.

Yes, musicians tend to love and respect their fans. I would respect and talk to them on the street too, if i was a musician)) I have never read this kind of biography, maybe I should, though I need to find a band whose history Id love to know more. I've once read a biography written by Sir Alex Ferguson, head coach of Manchester United. It was quite interesting to get his insight into his reign in the club. Oh, I think it will be quite some time before we can chat in German) I must practice a lot at first)

I once bumped into a guitarist of one of my fav bands (BTBAM) on the street some hours before the gig and we had a nice chat. That's was so strange to see him walking with his friend in Moscow) I kinda dislike biographies, especially about musicians. I dont know why. Ive read a biography of Metallica written by a famous Russian fan. Well it was decent, but not captivating at all. Just facts and facts. If you havent watches the Game of Thrones, then it is even better for you) I've just recently read Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. Awesome stuff) I especially enjoyed Tolkien's language. I cannot say that Im an avid reader, but still I have read quite a number of books. I like different genres, but fantasy is probably my favourite. By fantasy I mean all kinds of fictional books from Stephen King to J.R.R. Tolkien. As for recommendations, you probably have seen the series Game of Thrones, and if you havent read this book, I strongly recommend you to do it. The world that G.R.R. Martin created in his books (not only the main series A Song of Ice and Fire, but in other books covering his universe) is truly immense. No wonder people call him "American Tolkien". I also enjoy classic stuff like Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, etc. I also recommend you to read Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None". It is a pretty short book, but one of my favourite by her. I love books and movies with suspense and a powerful ending. What books exactly have you read, by the way?)
