Eh well, if I knew that I will be seeing him first and the last time I would be in a front row. Jk, I really cant stand bands who spill drinks over audience. I am fan of Type O and will always be, but certain behaviors can't be forgiven even to Gods. Peter died from heart failure and battled substance abuse for years...so who knows. I didn't heard anything new confirmed about it. Let me tell you a secret- who cares, listen what you like, there will always be some gatekeeper that has issues. Music is to be enjoyed and yes, its cool to see how some people rediscovered themselves. Ok, I'll give Opeth a millionth chance and will try my best to get into that moody mood :'D ''Me and That Man'' have 3 albums and you can't do wrong by starting with any of them...its just very strange to hear Nergal singing americana blues....and yet it sounds so good. Don't know have you heard this single with Ihsahn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQQIAO8Sb_M Its simple and peaceful music.

I had to remind myself what songs are on ''Dark Light'', just singles are barely listenable the rest is just patched up together to be called album imo. Haha oh I would, I cant stand bands who spill drinks/blood/water etc. on the audience. I want to see the act and not to smell after the concert. If its of any consolation Type O was really bad on that tour or so I've heard (using certain substances do that). Can you explain why everyone took a break from this page? I did so too, and from time to time I still disappear. Maybe it was rise of streaming services, or just putting all music on yt in such awesome quality. Katatonia, ok I understand but Opeth? On so many occasions I tried to listen to them but somehow there is always something bothering me with their music. As you can see my schizophrenic's taste in music varies now from black to gothic even though I like some experimentations like what Ihsahn or Nergal with '' Me and That Man'' is doing.

I had similar problem, but now i really like ''Screamworks''. Agreed, it takes time to get into that album but its meant to be like ''love letter'' (which apparently he send to Kat von D. Failed romances that got turned into songs are something out of this world). Nope, you are right- ''Dark Light'' is really terrible, i listen to it sometimes but its just generic, its as if they had to make album cause of contract. Yes, when Type O Negative toured in Europe they managed to visit my sad country (Croatia) way back in 2007. There was maybe max.100 or 200 people on that concert- it was as if no one cared- no joke! I was still in high school, and even my teacher went to that concert. I have to say it wasn't so good, thanks to my guarding angel I stayed away from front row cause Peter had wild idea to spill wine on the front row. Since I haven't been using last.fm in certain periods my charts don't have massive Sentenced, Poisonblack, Negative, For My Pain charts but I admire those bands.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Sometimes it takes different mood, more listening or even years to like certain album. As I saw HIM live it would be foolish to even compare since Ville is the soul of HIM. When I was a teenager it took me awhile to even like HIM - It was considered as plain and everyone was labeled ''not true kvlt''. So I needed to be extra careful with my image in the goth community.... As years progressed I stopped caring how will I be perceived, overemotional melancholy music is simply in my veins. Since you listened Type O Negative recently did you managed to see them live?

This page finally brought back souls of old! Thank you! Neon Noir is wonderful, I had my doubts but it turned out to be very nostalgic with beautiful poetry. It was amazing seeing VV performing those songs live.

same here, things start to stand out more each time. The one that I really liked is "Sclera," I finally remembered to check the track title while it was playing because I kept forgetting where on the list it was. This happens with some of their other songs too, it's hard to remember because the beginning doesn't hint at how the rest becomes

I think what I meant is, it's easy to like but difficult to love. I adore everything from Tiamat, but some albums took me literally years to come around to (hello dear Judas Christ). But for me at least, it's easier to go from an initial reaction of "wtf that was horrible" to becomingly really fascinated and appreciating. Most of the Katatonia albums on the other hand, it's more subtle and subconsciously magnetic. Almost like it grows slowly in the background until suddenly it appears, but passively and in its own time. Also the new album was way nicer after a cup of tea than it was after a cocktail, whatever that means, lol

yeah, same, check back in a week or two... did you enjoy City Burials? because I thought that album was tiresome the first few times but that was the one that ended up making me interested in their music in general. Just the first time listening to this one, I didn't love the arrangements and thought the guest singer (or singers?) on some of the tracks were pretty grating. I liked the first two tracks the best! Thinking in comparison with some adjacent bands like Moonspell, Sentenced, or even Tiamat, Katatonia has a higher base level where all their work is at least mildly enjoyable yet they've never made anything as truly bizarre or insane that I immediately love as much. So yeah it takes a while and in certain moods it's perfect, other times it's like "I wish this wasn't so polished and inoffensive" haha

agree on the music genre, but can't comment on the video game :-p I'm also really looking forward to hearing the new Katatonia album tomorrow! Birds was the only one that sounded like a "single", like Austerity just kinda cuts off at the end (unless they made some single edit that I didn't hear)... but I'd care more about how they sound in context than as random lonely songs anyway
