Hi Neighbour! I see you have been listen to Poppy! I'm obssesed with her OMG I Disagree doesn't sound like anything I had heard before! as long as with Blackbriar, Have you check them out? they're incredible! Beautiful dark witchy fairytale symphonic/melodic metal kind of stuff hahaha. btw I've been thinking to check out the lastest album by VoA, but I heard all the singles and none of them convinced me, the whole thing appears to me like kind of a classy average symphonic metal I'm not pleased to hear right now hahah, the same thing with Serenity, I really like War of Ages and Codex Atlanticus, But lionheart and the singles of the lastest one... meh! there's something more inside these albums that singles don't show?

"I Disagree" is a really good album - it's definitely unique, I haven't heard any artists blend metalcore, industrial and pop in the way that she does. It's probably gonna be one of my favorite albums of this year. I haven't heard Blackbriar, but I'll definitely check them out because I'm always looking for new symphonic metal. When it comes to "Wanderers" by VOA, to me it's very similar to the last album "The Deep & the Dark", though there are some differences (the opening track kind of reminds me of "The Poet & the Pendulum" by Nightwish & is one of their most epic for example). I think it's pretty good for the most part, though there are one or two songs I'm not very into. When it comes to the new Serenity album, I like it & think it's more musically diverse than "Lionheart", though it's similar in style in that it's a more straight forward power metal album. I do like "War of Ages" (it's my favorite) & "Codex Atlanticus" better than "The Last Knight".

OMG "Poet and the Pendulum"?? I have to check out of opening track of "Wanderers" right now! "The last Knight" will have to wait haha.

Thanks, you've got some great music on your charts too - nice to see that I'm not the only one that likes stuff like Kamelot *and* NOFX, lol. Yeah, I've listened to "The Shadow Theory". It's pretty good, I'm especially fond of "Vespertine" and "Stories Unheard" - the former because it's kind of a mix of older Kamelot and their modern sound, the latter because of how playful it is. Also, Roy Khan's old band Conception is back, if you're interested - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWLZ9pStIeU

Haha I have a balanced love for proggier & symphonic sides of metal AND short snappier punk rock tunes! The Shadow Theory's definitely surprised me; I keep coming back to it. Vespertine and Stories Unheard are probably my favourites too; very rich vocals from Karevik. I'm still very much embarking on my Kamelot journey though; lots of music to get through. I'd heard Khan was back producing music, but didn't know Conception had reformed! After so long. Loved that track, thanks for sharing.

I'm the exact same way, lol - I love stuff like Epica and Kamelot about as equally as I do Bad Religion and Jawbreaker. Yeah, Tommy is an excellent singer, and the way he sings the chorus in "Vespertine" is at least half the reason I love it so much. I feel like Kamelot needs to give him more room to explore, though - compare the way he sings in Kamelot to Seventh Wonder and you'll see what I mean. Still, I dig the albums they've done with him (and I've seen them with Karevik twice now), though "The Black Halo" is probably always gonna be my favorite. I'm really glad Conception are back together - it's really good to hear Khan's voice again, and Tore's songwriting is as strong as ever too.

Didn't change the name, but I did change the profile pic! I think Orphaned Land and Myrath are both great musically, and I actually quite like Zaher Zorgatti's voice. I really like their "Legacy" album, it kind of reminds me of Kamelot, except more oriental of course. I did kind of have to get used to the singing in Orphaned Land, though - not used to hearing vocals that nasally in this genre, lol. "All is One" is probably my favorite Orphaned Land album - I know some old fans don't like it as much as others since it's not as heavy, but I like the more melodic sound it has.

I saw The title Wolf in place of your name profile it seems your picture profile confused me lol ! When it comes to Myrath there is a lot of things that I hate as much I love about them BTW their name is The Arabic word for Legacy or inheritance. But when it comes to Orphaned Land I prefer Their style But hate their politicizing Agenda but all in all no matter what their songs are far from bad especially the ones of Orphaned Land so if they really hate that album they must be delusional. also I hate those metalhead who see music from point of view of the faster The heavier is The better and how true metal should be .... Those are The true posers of This world .

I think with the first couple Myrath albums, the songs can sometimes be too long. I like long songs, I just think Myrath are better at shorter ones. I do agree about metalheads that only want super extreme stuff - I like some fast, heavy stuff too, but I prefer melodic and epic bands (my favorite metal bands are Kamelot, Epica and Nightwish for example). I feel like people who think they're better than everyone else just because they listen mostly to black metal and death metal are trying way too hard. lol

Myrath albums tend to Mix The commercial Arabic industry music with Metal it can turn out good at times but forgetful too so I prefer Orphan land they are more original in their approach . I Adore Dramatic long songs Listen to Seducia by Silentium one of these very underrated long songs . For me I just want what is right ! Don't care how fast heavy is the song as long it is natural and beautiful and very intact in its feel and structure .Those type of Metalheads actually have some psychological problems I feel they try so hard to be Angry and aggressive to sound more feared and thus more manly ( in their deep Delusional perspective ) not for music itself. it must be different from every metal community in every country but at my place I felt it goes in that form . BTW Why aren't your scrobbling are showing ? it would be cool to see them .

Epica music tends to be more complicated in which makes it harder to Digest from first listen but on"Requiem for the Indifferent"it wasn't really the cause The album itself was constructed badly even mark himself admitted and that's why he emphasized on The follow up album production which everybody liked although musically u can say"Requiem for the Indifferent"was better.can they do that ? it's really impressive!tnx for telling me.COF "dusk and her embrace" must have some love then also tristania first album I listened to it today it is really beautiful classical album Even if it was released today it would has this feeling of classicalism that tear your heart apart Especially when vibek speaks and whisper.it's ironic how epica took The old tristania sound and modernized it to make it theirs while tristania guys given up on their band so early on.

I don't know how I didn't see this comment before, whoops! Well, "Requiem" is still my least favorite Epica album, so I do see your point. I can see how Epica modernized that sound, too - they have an almost power metal influence in their music, but with the beauty-and-the-beast vocals of gothic metal of course. "Dusk and Her Embrace" is my favorite Cradle of Filth album, I love its sound, atmosphere and lyrics - very creative and epic. I know the black metal purists don't like them, but I think they've made some brilliant stuff in the past. "Widow's Weeds" by Tristania is an amazing and beautiful album, and it's one of my favorites. I love the atmosphere and Vibeke Stene's singing, as well as Morten Veland's growls and lyrics. "Beyond the Veil" is amazing too, and "World of Glass" is really good too even if there's no Morten Veland on it. The other albums are more straight forward and less complex, but I do like them...though that first album with Mariangela was a mixed bag.

I actually quite like "Darkest White", though - much better than "Rubicon", and some nice riffs.

Right?! I still have no idea why "Resist" lovers can't acknowledge any of that. The whole album sounds like one verse repeating itself by a programed machine. No riffs no Drumming Echo No complexity No clear keyboard sounding No bass no nothing even The Fake orchestra barely is heard.all songs re super repetitive and so short likely in demo form,I really feel those songs re really uncompleted.like if they didn't sit all together to work on it with any persistence.even The album title and art cover nothing in them show any thoughts or philosophy.everything on is so cheaply made.sure TSF was their best for many reasons but at that time they had some financial power due to ME success,an album they made with barely any money the same goes for enter but u can feel they did The best they could with it but on this u feel they didn't even take a look at what were they doing.this album really made me angry.

yes! I believe The songs in their core re good but not taken care of neither produced correctly.they really sound like desperately reworked so hard to sound like an American music but it just not working.moreover like imagine dragons but with rocky touch to them.I still have no idea why they still got 3 guitarists in their band xDI don't hate any of their albums when it comes to music writing I just despise the way they re presented. If u noticed sharon voice sounds so unbalanced with superficially"moaning attachment"sorry to say that word.for example listen to The dance u notice her voice goes in horror atmosphere then preaching mood then a complete elegy it's more like theater play on telling a story while on this album they're trying to attach soft sexual moaning sounding also wide extensive tune like the ones christina aguilera uses to sharon voice.that is really pathetic.

Actually, now that I think about it, the song "Holy Ground" on the new album does sound a lot like Imagine Dragons. It's my absolute least favorite song on "Resist", and that might be the reason why. I think they're trying to get into the American market too and have been for a long time, much like Lacuna Coil have tried to do. It sort of worked, "Hydra" charted at 14 on the Billboard charts, and "Paradise (What About Us?)" charted on the singles chart (at a low position of 196 but still). I wouldn't be surprised if "Resist" charts well over here, too. The thing is, these bands don't need to change their sound to something more American to succeed over here - when I saw Nightwish in 2015, the show was absolutely packed. The line to get in was incredibly long, and I almost missed Delain as a result (they were opening). They're doing well here, even if they're not on the radio all the time.
