'we used to tape our rehearsals, to check. nico was very vulnerable to this. we'd listen and hear her go off-key or hit the wrong pitch at the start. we would sit there and snigger, "there she goes again", which might seem a little cruel now...' john cale

i think the point of this song is exactly being problematic, the blend of those crude misogyne lyrics along with the sweet backing vocals and instrumental makes a hauntingly iconic piece,

Terrific, charming song. Some might say it's "fluff" on an album as great as The Velvet Underground & Nico, but I think it works wonderfully.

God I love Reed's voice in this track. Filled with frustration and sarcasm and delivered in a cold accusing deadpan style, brilliant. This coupled with the song's easy-going rhythm interrupted by Reed's stabs on the guitar make this song absolutely terrific. I fucking love this band.
