I've officially given up hope. I'm editing my scrobbles to Bucks Fizz. If it has to be wrong I'd rather it was partly correct 🤣

I need another album! It's been 8 years since Beautiful Friction and it was a great return.

So I'm scrobbling The Fizz but it's showing up as The Fixx still after two years.

A Mexican restaurant called Gringo's in Lavallette was blasting One Thing Leads To Another. I Shazamed it. LOL! That's how I discovered them. I might have heard the song before, but I don't know. I decided to scrobble that song. It's the only song I have it. I should get more of their music. They are a good new wave band.

I was lucky enough to meet these guys when they played at my university some 20 years ago. Great music.

I was extremely fortunate. The Fixx live looked and sounded exactly like you would hope. Fantastic. But I was a fan of smaller "New Wave" shows that few mainstream music fans attended. I saw A Flock of Seagulls, Duran Duran on their debut North American "Hungry Like the Wolf" tour (800 attended, believe it or not), two Split Enz shows, a small (at most 3000 attending) The Police/XTC performing Zenyatta Mondatta/Black Sea, The Boomtown Rats twice on their "Fine Art of Surfacing" and "Mondo Bongo" tours. Looking back all of this certainly seems miraculous.

The Fixx were a cutting edge band with a cutting edge producer. Rupert Hine (look him up) helped define the 80's. I was lucky to see them in 1983 during their Reach the Beach tour. They were amazing.

I'm surprised that Stand or Fall is #4 on the charts, it's the only song of theirs I've ever known and I expected this would be one of those cases where the chart was just basically that one track.

One Thing Leads To Another was their major hit in America, hence the weird imbalance. Stand or Fall was their only significant hit here in Australia tbh, a shame considering they had a number of good songs.

I really like this band! And their 1998 album Elemental was a surprising pleasure to hear on first listen the other day! :-) I love the 90's! (yes I love plenty of music from the 80's too) The Fixx remind me of A-ha & The Thomson Twins. Maybe Cy Curnin's voice over their rock sound?

After 9/11 and the subsequent political fallout, Cy Curnin, front man of The Fixx, moved to France and became an organic farmer. But Curnin never left his past behind. In fact, he has a lot to say about his songs from 30 years ago because in many ways, The Fixx are more relevant than ever: http://www.songfacts.com/blog/interviews/cy_curnin_of_the_fixx/

Tomebarns is right - really underrated. "Secret Separation" is a great song and never got the radio airplay in the States that it should have.
