I love She Sells Sanctuary due to a car racing game I played on one of the PlayStation consoles. I have decided to check out more songs by them by listening to their Love album. Good stuff! I'm up to the third track so far.

2000s racing games had the best soundtracks. So much good alt/indie rock and especially breakbeat stuff. I remember getting into Placebo via some PS1 Formula 1 game in 1999 or something.

I knew her from a pretty decent BMX game of David Mirra, she was in the opening cinematic.

Hoping for a return to the style of the first two albums. Absolutely stellar work.

It's incredible, some stupid rapper also robbed "The Cult" name. Rainbow, Viper, Omen, Savage or Riot were not enough. Even The Cult, which is even more famous than these bands i mentioned, incredible!

The Love album is really something special. Even the rest of the band's work doesn't really sound like it. I've always loved the album, but as the years go by, it gets even better to me. If I had to (god help me) compile a list of my top albums of all time, Love would at least be in the top 20 somewhere, it's that good.

I agree. It's magical. What a lot of modern listeners won't know is that it was considered a rebellious album. At the time post-punk anti-Zeppelin sentiment was strong. Zep and Pink Floyd (and ELP and Yes) were considered what was "wrong" with rock music. That narrative is lost in the modern age.

Right on, man. The Love album didn't sit comfortably alongside the rock scene at the time, although I think it's aged much better than Danger Danger (as much as I enjoy them too). Punk was as much a reaction to the most indulgent tendencies of prog rock as it was early rock n roll nostalgia. Unfortunately every band that had a song over 6 minutes, good or bad got lumped in with just aimless technical wankery. Tribalism it is. It's in every facet of life, always has been and sure doesn't look like we'll be free of it any time soon. But it's tribalism that sets up all these elitist camps, "My punk/prog/hair/thrash/black metal is better than your genre. My team is better than your team." Blah blah blah. Let folks dig what they dig, believe what they believe, as long as they don't shit up stream of you, doesn't matter. The Cult, Zeppelin, The Ramones, Merle Haggard and NWA all share space on the playlists I throw together. I don't get elitism. It only limits yourself. Pardon the rant.

The Mission became a hard rock band after their first few records, so that's to be expected.
