I think this song is about the avoidant personality disorder too, the person in this song is in love with someone, but rather than telling him/her about it, he transforms that person into an idealised notion in his mind, and he keeps his feelings a secret. It's pretty deep, I guess.

"conceiving you" is the best construction Duda could choose, I think. The person he talks about doesn't exist: it is a thing - and far more - connected to many emotions within the protaonist's mind. Regardless if there's a reality picture linked to the name or not.

First - Riverside = great and this is a beautiful track, but am I alone in this? The lyric choice of "i'm conceiving you" is rather peculiar. I can't help but think of the conceiving of a child and the song becomes quickly disturbing, lol. Of course I understand the intention of the use of the word in the song, its just the "conceiving" + the "you" (a person, usually) just nails down this weird connotation when I listen. I remember reading the artist finds it challenging to write in English (he does a really fine job of it tbh, though), so I'm not trying to hate. I just found myself laughing at the ridiculous way to interpret the song. But that doesn't stop me from enjoying it. Oh, the beauty of words and music. :)

@julben No... No, it does not. Anyway, I always kind of interpreted this song as something like the singer has been imagining what this person would be like for so long that they are afraid of finding out who they actually are. The lyrics are vague enough the the song could be seen many ways.

From the band's website: "It is music that makes me want to enjoy life not only inside the world created in my mind. And it is also because of it that I sometimes appear to be a totally unreal man." - Mariusz Duda (Riverside vocalist). I am tempted to think this is also the world "he" cannot share.

It's defenitely about someone imaginative (or making out someone to be something they're not).

What do you reckon the song is about? I haven't done research properly or listened to the song the whole way properly, but on casual listens it sounds like an intense ballad of loneliness and desperation. Maybe about this dude who's been trying to imagine his perfect love.
