I think it's possibly just a 5 string bass and then you've got the drop tuned guitar that comes in a bit later.

This definately has elements to the grand conjuration in it. I found this page cause i heard it and googled it to see if anyone else heard it. the ascending riffs are what i heard first, and yea, the 3:58 section is almost lifted from opeth. excellent tune! haha (i LOVE opeth and tree)
