This is the second collaboration between Joji and producer Clams Casino, their first being “CAN’T GET OVER YOU,” an upbeat track on Joji’s previous album BALLADS 1. “NITROUS” is similar in vein to that track, with a fun beat and an upbeat tempo.
With the song being named “NITROUS” and also containing multiple references to cars and motorcycles, Joji compares this to his ability to sing and make music as a coping mechanism to help him get through relationship troubles with the person he is mentioning.
