Cross-linx establishes unsuspected connections between composed contemporary music and musicians from the avant-garde pop and rock in just one evening. A traveling festival throughout the country with international musicians playing in various places inside and outside the concert hall. The line-up for 2016 is now known and strong, including performances of: Neil Finn (Crowded House), Glenn Kotche, Andrew Bird, The Notwist, Son Lux and Third Coast Percussion.
Like last year, Cross-linx takes place in the Muziekgebouw and Bimhuis. In this fifteenth edition singer-songwriter Andrew Bird, New Zealand singer/guitarist Neil Finn and Wilco-drummer Glenn Kotche form the main acts of the indie-classical festival that will tour through the Netherlands from the 25th until the 28th of February, 2016. Andrew Bird presents his new album which will come out next spring. Neil Finn and Glenn Kotche bring together the Unlimited Orchestra, consisting of twelve members including indie-classical ensemble Luna Tree, especially for Cross-linx. Other confirmed acts are the German cult band The Notwist, American percussion group Third Coast Percussion, On Fillmore, Son Lux, Emilie & Ogden, guitarist Aart Strootman, Yuri Landman, the British talent Luke Deane, avant jazz trio Dawn of Midi and Diamanda Dramm.
Artists that played at previous editions of the festival include Bryce Dessner, Squarepusher, Patrick Watson, Ólafur Arnalds, The National, Nico Muhly, Owen Pallett, Eels, Efterklang, The Ex, José González, My Brightest Diamond, Spinvis and Rhys Chatham. They worked together with Dutch ensembles like Asko|Schönberg, Holland Baroque Society and Amsterdam Sinfonietta.
Tickets
Tickets cost € 41,50. A ticket (exchanged for a wristband upon entry) provides access to all concerts on this evening in the Muziekgebouw and Bimhuis.
