one of the few decent Swedish extreme metal bands. raw, primitive, ugly and even mystically horrifying... hail Sumerian Cry!

the opening riff to hail to cruelty always sorta reminds me of the intro to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE_jOD2Fxvs

@necrologue -> What about Repugnant? It might not sound the same but the songs of the album "Epitome of Darkness" have a lot of similiarities to the Treblinka-riffing. You can also check out the allmighty Necrovore or Nihilist but I think there is nothing as close to Treblinka as the Repugnant album. If there is something else, I would like to know, too ;-)

@Necrologue, first wave black metal is kind of rare in my opinion, and even less is in the vein of Treblinka, but of course early [artist]Bathory[/artist] rings a bell. [artist]Venom[/artist] and [artist]Sarcófago[/artist] might also ring a bell, somewhere... And bands such as [artist]666[/artist], later [artist]Törr[/artist], are somewhat in the same vein and [artist]Morbid[/artist] might also appeal to you, but it's a bit more "death" than Treblinka. And even [artist]Necrodeath[/artist] might be what you are looking for, going even further in to death brings [artist]Slaughter Lord[/artist] to mind. Meeh, sorry for all this rambling, hope it helps in some way or another.

Swedish Treblinka here in lastfm must be separated from the other band to avoid confusions.

@ Leatherface91 - Their older logo was even more kickass, I think there is a picture of their older logo in Daniel Ekeroth's book on Swedish DM. Edlund himself admitted that they were fooling around while they tried to create a badass image of theirs and came up with the most evil logo they could think of with all the Spider webs, inverted crosses etcetra, too bad they settled for a slightly modified version of that older logo. Its still badass!
